About Brian Johnson
My name is Brian Johnson. I’m a former clinical psychologist, academic researcher, and pharmaceutical industry researcher. Today, I spend all of my time researching ways to enhance cognitive performance, energy levels, and overall health. I am a relentless biohacker; I am constantly seeking ways to get more out of my body and my mind.
I have always been fascinated by the human mind. More specifically, I have always been captivated by the fact that we understand so little about how the human mind works. For millennia now we have scratched around in the dark trying to understand everything from memories and dreams to how we really make decisions. Psychology and neuroscience have made some great inroads, but we are still fundamentally unsure of how the stuff of thought actually operates!
My interest in the mind naturally led me to pursue a career in psychology. However, after a good few years working in academic research – and then a brief stint in private practice – I decided to quit my job and pursue my real (at the time burgeoning) passion: biohacking.
If I was previously fascinated by the mind, I was even more fascinated by the prospect of mental enhancement. This is what led to the creation of VAGA.
At the time of writing, I am the Editor in Chief of VAGA.org. You can find my writings on that site, dedicated as it is to natural biohacking and natural supplement reviews.
